Ellen DeGeneres has publicly reached out to share her condolences with her close friend, Kris Jenner, following the recent passing of Jenner’s mother, Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon. DeGeneres shared her sympathies on social media this past Friday.
In a post shared via Instagram, DeGeneres included a photograph of the mother-daughter duo and offered a touching message on behalf of herself and her wife, Portia de Rossi. “Portia and I know how much you loved your mother and what a special force she was in your life and your entire family’s life,” DeGeneres wrote. “I can’t imagine the grief that you’re feeling right now. We’re sending you our love.”
Remembering the Matriarch
Kris Jenner initially announced the loss of her mother on Thursday, July 16, just a fortnight before her 92nd birthday. In an emotional tribute, Jenner expressed the depth of her sorrow:
“Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ. There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye. My mom was the heart of our family. She taught me everything that truly matters … to love your family fiercely, to be kind, to show up for the people you love, and to never take a single moment together for granted. She taught us that family is everything.”

Kim Kardashian also took to social media to honor her grandmother, reflecting on their close bond. In her message, Kim described her grandmother as her “best friend, gossip buddy, and forever twin.” She further noted, “You taught all of us the importance of family, and those values are something we’ll carry with us forever!
