Paige DeSorbo is officially putting an end to the rampant online gossip suggesting she is engaged to her boyfriend, Joe D’Amelio. The 33-year-old addressed the situation during the July 17 episode of her Giggly Squad podcast, explaining that the rumors originated from a misunderstanding surrounding a family vacation.
«It was a transformational trip,» DeSorbo noted. «My brother got engaged, which also by the time I saw the rumors that I got engaged, it was past the time that I could say something on Instagram.»
The Role of Social Media
The rumor mill gained traction after her podcast cohost, Hannah Berner, shared a screenshot of a FaceTime call between the two. Berner, 34, admitted that her innocent post sparked the frenzy.
«I have to formally apologize because I always end up part of the drama and I don’t even mean to,» Berner shared on the podcast. «We were FaceTiming, as we do, and I smiled and Paige was dying laughing. It brings me joy to see you laughing so hard at my ugly face. So, I screenshotted it and I posted it so innocently.»
DeSorbo jokingly responded to the chaos: «So, you started a rumor about me while I was, like, literally having IBS symptoms. Did I do something to you? My mom was getting text messages, she was like, ‘Wait, what?’»
Focusing on Family
While the internet was busy speculating about her own life, DeSorbo was primarily focused on celebrating her brother Gary’s engagement. She emphasized that her family, including her future sister-in-law, was completely unaware of the digital chatter.
«They don’t give a s* at all, like, they didn’t know. They were like, ‘What?’ They are real people living in the real world,» she said. «Can I wear a white dress and have a laugh?»
New Beginnings
DeSorbo, who previously dated Southern Charm star Craig Conover, confirmed her split from him in late 2024. Following the breakup, reports surfaced in July 2025 that she had begun quietly seeing D’Amelio, a sports marketing executive.
Reflecting on her current relationship, DeSorbo shared, «We’re exclusive. I’m in my 30s, so it’s not like I’m out every single weekend going out on multiple dates like I would have been in my 20s.» She described the romance as a refreshing change of pace, praising D’Amelio's demeanor and maturity.
