Actress Alex Kingston has publicly thanked two NHS clinicians for the "warm, sensitive and incredible care" she received during her treatment for womb cancer. The former Doctor Who star specifically highlighted the support from consultants Dr. Christina Pappa and Dr. Sally Trent at Oxford University Hospitals.
She shared her gratitude during a special BBC Radio 5 Live programme for World Cancer Day. Kingston expressed being "in awe" of all the medics she met, noting she felt fully supported throughout her journey.
During the broadcast, both doctors were secretly invited to surprise her. Kingston called them her amazing team. Dr. Trent said the actress had been an inspiration, while Dr. Pappa emphasized Kingston's case shows the importance of listening to your body and seeking medical advice.
Kingston urged people not to worry about wasting doctors' time, as early checks are always worthwhile.
