A Personal Loss for the Reality Star
Brandi Glanville, the 53-year-old former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, is mourning the death of her father, Guy Glanville, who passed away at 77. The reality television personality shared the sorrowful news through a social media post on Saturday, October 10.
«My dad died, I’m gutted I hate this life right now,» Glanville wrote on X, accompanying her message with a broken heart emoji. No further details regarding the cause or circumstances of his death have been disclosed.
A Complex Father-Daughter Relationship
Guy Glanville is survived by his wife, Judith Glanville, and their three children: Brandi, Tricia, and Michael. Brandi had previously been candid about the turbulent nature of her relationship with her father over the years.
Following their appearance together on the 2018 program Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Family Edition, Brandi shared that their relationship faced significant strain, noting that her father had stopped speaking to her after the show. At the time, she expressed her frustration:
«It’s been quite some time and unfortunately… I’m used to this, it’s just like Housewives, like, I can handle it. For him, I think he cares what his friends and everyone was saying about what they saw... But, no, we haven’t talked since, unfortunately. But I love him dearly. He’s everything.»
Public Reconciliation
Despite their past disagreements, the pair managed to reconcile during a period when Brandi was embroiled in a high-profile public conflict with fellow reality star Denise Richards. During that time, Guy publicly stood by his daughter, defending her character in an Instagram video:
«My daughter may be many things, sometimes an asshole, but she is not a liar,» he stated.
Prior to his passing, Brandi had reached out to her followers for support when she revealed that her father had been hospitalized in the cardiac unit for nearly two weeks. Following the announcement of his death, peers and friends, including The Real Housewives of New York City star Sonja Morgan, publicly offered their condolences, with Morgan writing on X: «So sorry you are going through this Brandi. Sending love and strength.»
