A Family Affair at Arrowhead Stadium
The Mahomes family turned out in full force to support Patrick Mahomes during the Kansas City Chiefs' opening preseason game. His wife, Brittany, 30, shared a delightful collection of images on social media, showcasing their time on the sidelines at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, August 15. The couple's three children—Sterling, 5, Bronze, 3, and Golden, 1—enjoyed the atmosphere, alternating between cheering for their father and participating in a family photoshoot.
Brittany expressed her joy on social media, noting, «Their faces when they see their dad... and Bronze yawning is just the best.» The official NFL broadcast also highlighted a touching moment as Patrick connected with his family on the sidelines during the matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
Injury Recovery and Fatherhood
Patrick did not participate in Saturday’s game, which concluded with a 20-12 victory for the Rams. Head coach Andy Reid opted to keep the star quarterback sidelined as a precaution following a serious knee injury. Patrick suffered a torn ACL and LCL during a game against the Los Angeles Chargers in December 2025, which necessitated surgery and an extensive rehabilitation period.
Discussing the challenges of his recovery during a January press conference, the quarterback noted how the injury impacted his daily interactions with his children. He explained:
«The kids understand that dad can’t necessarily be the dad that I usually am throwing them around the couches and stuff like that.»
Patrick praised his wife for her support, stating that she has been instrumental in keeping him actively involved with the children while he navigates his physical therapy. In a mid-July interview, Mahomes described his recovery as a long, steady process, emphasizing that he is focused on consistent, day-by-day progress to ensure he is prepared for the upcoming season.
Travis Kelce’s Public Appearance
The preseason game also marked the first time fans caught an official glimpse of Travis Kelce’s wedding ring. The athlete, who married Taylor Swift on July 3, sported a striking gold band as he arrived at the stadium. Much like his teammate, the 36-year-old tight end did not play in the game as a health precaution.
