A Commitment to Fitness
Age is clearly just a number for the 85-year-old Knots Landing icon, Donna Mills. Despite her busy schedule and a recent foray into new digital platforms, the actress maintains a level of physical fitness that rivals individuals half her age. In a recent interview, she opened up about the disciplined lifestyle that allows her to stay active and toned.
Mills attributes her physique to a consistent and rigorous exercise regimen. Her daily routine is built around a mix of cardio and targeted strength exercises, which include:
- 100 sit-ups per day
- 50 leg lifts
- Regular stretching sessions
"I have a ballet barre in my little gym," she noted. Beyond her home workouts, she incorporates intense cardio, cycling for 45 to 60 minutes, and playing tennis up to five times a week. When it comes to nutrition, the actress keeps it simple and disciplined, stating: "I’ve always been anti-sugar."
The Discipline of a Ballerina
The foundation of Mills’ health-conscious lifestyle was laid early in her life. Having started her journey as a trained ballerina, she developed habits that have carried her through decades of Hollywood success.
As Mills explained, "I was on pointe, the whole thing. That gave me a discipline that most people don’t have because ballet is very hard." This early foundation allowed her to prioritize her physical well-being throughout her career.
Exploring New Digital Frontiers
Beyond her fitness routine, Mills has garnered significant attention for joining OnlyFans this past July. According to the actress, the venture has been a resounding success. She notes that the platform offers a unique way for her to connect with her audience in a way that wasn't possible during the height of her television career in the 80s and 90s.
"They want to know me," she said regarding her subscribers. "They want to know what I do during the day when I’m home. They want to see my home. They want to know much more about my personal life than we ever experienced back in the ’80s and the ’90s."
Looking Back at Personal Milestones
Mills’ life outside of the spotlight has been defined by the deep connection she has with her family. In 1994, she adopted her daughter, Chloe Mills, a decision she described as a pivotal moment in her life. Later, she began a long-term relationship with partner Larry Gilman.
Reflecting on the decision to become a mother at 54, Mills shared in a previous interview: "I was very concentrated on my career, but at a certain point, I realized there was something missing — it was a child. I never felt older than the other mothers who were probably in their 20s."
