A Joyful New Beginning
Social media personalities Matt and Abby Howard have officially announced the birth of their latest child. Matt shared the heartwarming news through an Instagram update on Monday, August 17. The post featured a touching image of Abby shortly after delivery, cradling their newborn son, whose face was gently obscured by an emoji.
“He’s here!!!!” Matt exclaimed in the caption. “We have been soaking up every bit of this beautiful new chapter as a family of 5. Can’t wait to slowly catch you all up on the past week of our life.”
The newborn joins the couple's two older children, Griffin and August, who were born in 2022 and 2023. The couple had initially shared the news of their pregnancy this past March, referring to the child as their “rainbow baby” following a previous pregnancy loss.
Navigating Grief and Healing
The journey to this moment has been marked by profound challenges. In September 2025, the couple shared the devastating news that they had lost their baby girl. They recounted the harrowing experience during a routine check-up, where the absence of a heartbeat led to the tragic confirmation of the loss.
Reflecting on the experience, the couple noted:
“It is with very heavy hearts that we share about the loss of our baby girl born far too soon. At a routine pregnancy appointment, our doctor could not find a heartbeat. Shortly after they sent us in for an ultrasound where the technician said words we will never forget, ‘I am so sorry I do not have good news.’”
Opening Up About the Experience
Abby later provided insight into the difficult process of returning to the hospital for the induction following the loss. Speaking on a June episode of “The Squeeze” podcast, she described the surreal and painful environment of the hospital unit.
“I always say that delivering our daughter was just… it was so eerily similar to a live birth. You’re in the same unit as everyone else that’s having babies that are alive,” she shared. Despite the immense difficulty, Abby expressed that the experience, while one she “wouldn’t wish on anyone,” has contributed significantly to her personal growth.
At the time of their loss, the couple emphasized their gratitude for the time spent with their daughter and their commitment to finding hope, asking their followers for prayers and understanding as they navigated their grief privately.
