Mastering the Art of Intentional Packing
Kristin Juszczyk, the talented designer behind many iconic NFL-themed looks, has mastered the art of suitcase organization. Partnering with the Aruba Tourism Authority for their "Aruba Unpacked" initiative, Juszczyk emphasizes that traveling should be about experiences rather than the stress of logistics.
"It’s all about having curated travel with you, so that you can experience more and worry less about everything," she explained. For Juszczyk, the secret lies in "packing with intention"—a method that contrasts sharply with her previous habit of overpacking everything in her closet.
The Digital Wardrobe Hack
To avoid the chaos of rummaging through a suitcase, Juszczyk has developed a highly organized system:
- Wardrobe Planning: She begins by selecting pieces from her closet that fit her itinerary.
- Lookbook Creation: She styles the outfits, takes photos of them, and saves them into a specific album on her phone.
- Visual Reference: "I just have to swipe through my phone, and I’m like, ‘OK, that’s what I’m gonna wear.’ I don’t have to go through my luggage and try to find a piece," she noted.
When packing, she arranges her clothing "day by day," ensuring each layer of her suitcase corresponds to her scheduled activities.
Versatility and Signature Style
A core component of Juszczyk’s travel philosophy is versatility. She focuses on pieces that can be elevated or transformed. During a recent trip to Aruba, she relied on sequin pants that proved to be surprisingly functional. "I ended up wearing them like every single day. They were so great for going to the beach. That was my number one piece that I wasn’t expecting to wear every day," she said.
She highlights that accessories, makeup, and hair styling are the keys to reinventing a look: «You can just change your hair and makeup, change your accessories, and you feel like a whole new woman.»
Maintaining Routine on the Go
Despite the tropical setting, Juszczyk remains committed to her personal rituals. Her travel essentials include a red-light therapy mask to maintain her skincare routine, sunscreen, and her camera for capturing memories. Maintaining this sense of normalcy is vital for her, especially as she prepares for the high-pressure environment of the football season.
Reflecting on her downtime, she shared that the trip provided a necessary escape before the hectic months ahead. "Luxury isn’t always about having more. It’s about the feeling of connecting to where you are and experiencing what you’re having," she concluded.
