Speaking to Deadline, the 55-year-old actor clarified his perspective: “I’m not seeing it. That’s not a sexualized relationship. It’s very fraternal. It’s brother and sister, and it’s really endearing because it doesn’t have that other energy behind it.”

Wyle noted that while he understands the audience's tendency to “ship” characters, the reality for Langdon is far more complicated. Actress Dearden, who portrays Mel, shares the view that her character is not interested in workplace romances. She noted that her co-star often remarks on their sibling-like dynamic, and she personally views her character as hyper-professional. “I don’t think that’s part of how Mel would think — especially at work.
