A dog-walking trail at Weald Country Park in Essex has been officially named after television personality Pete Wicks. The route was unveiled by Explore Essex, part of the local county council.

Wicks, known for shows like TOWIE and Strictly Come Dancing, is a dedicated Dogs Trust ambassador. At the launch, he said the honor felt both "embarrassing" and akin to being knighted, highlighting the importance of dog walking in his life.

The 37-year-old is an outspoken advocate for animal welfare, promoting adoption and responsible ownership. Park manager Ricky Hooper praised Wicks for raising awareness about mental health, noting the positive impact of walks in nature.

Wicks has volunteered for animal charities for over a decade, even joining a mission to shut down a dog meat farm in South Korea. He lives with his two rescue French bulldogs.
