A Humorous Mismatch in Branding
As the new season of Dancing With the Stars approaches, reality personality Tyler Cameron has taken a unique approach to branding his partnership with professional dancer Sharna Burgess. The 33-year-old star recently took to social media to propose a team name that left his partner less than impressed.
Cameron announced the moniker “Team Shart” in an Instagram post, explaining, “You take Sharna and Tyler, you put them together and you’ve got ‘Shart!’” Despite his lighthearted insistence that everyone experiences such moments, Burgess, 41, was quick to shut down the suggestion. “That is not the name for our partnership,” she firmly stated, clearly amused but equally exasperated by the crude nature of the proposal.
Balancing Personal Life and Professionalism
The interaction highlights the playful dynamic forming between the pair. Burgess, who is a mother to a 4-year-old son, jokingly remarked that she is already overwhelmed with child-like behavior at home and has little patience for similar antics from her dance partner. She has since called on fans to help brainstorm more sophisticated alternatives, noting, “Let’s think of something that is not poop-related. I have enough of that at home!”
Despite Burgess’s objections, the name gained some traction online. Cameron continued to lean into the joke, even sharing a video where he seemingly poked fun at the situation while standing alongside his partner. Even other figures in the DWTS orbit have playfully acknowledged the nickname.
Preparation for the Big Stage
Behind the jokes, the pair is preparing for a challenging season. Sharna Burgess is making her grand return to the ballroom after a five-year hiatus. Meanwhile, Cameron has been managing expectations regarding his past experience. He revealed on the Get Real podcast that while he was forced to take dance classes in college to improve his GPA, he hardly considers himself a pro.
“I was in there giving maximum effort and giving the worst pirouettes and, like, the worst ballet dances ever,” Cameron recalled of his college experience.
He also noted that his previous television dance experience is incomparable to the rigorous training required for DWTS, describing the upcoming season as “the real deal.” Fans can tune in to see how the duo performs when Dancing With the Stars kicks off its two-night premiere on ABC and Disney+ on September 15.
