A Confession of Love and Fear

In a poignant moment during a recent episode of the Bravo series In the City, Amanda Batula, 34, shared a vulnerable admission with her husband, Kyle Cooke, 43. Just months before the couple decided to finalize their separation, Batula expressed that her primary anxiety was the potential loss of their relationship.

«My biggest fear is losing you,» Batula stated during the June 9 broadcast. «And that’s scary. And I get frustrated with how badly I want it to work.»

The Move to Separate Living Spaces

The candid conversation unfolded while the couple discussed Batula's decision to move out of their shared New York City apartment. During an October 2025 lunch, Cooke questioned Batula about her romantic commitment to him. Batula reaffirmed her love, noting that the separation was intended to save the marriage rather than end it. She emphasized that she wanted Cooke to fight for their future and treat her with the appreciation she deserved.

As part of their transition to living apart, the couple established new boundaries:

  • They agreed to visit each other’s residences at least twice a week.
  • They committed to maintaining weekly sessions of couples therapy.
  • They clarified that they were not dating other people, with Batula expressing hope that the space would allow them to «date each other again.»

The Aftermath and New Beginnings

Despite their attempts to reconcile, the couple announced their official split in January after four years of marriage. Shortly thereafter, speculation regarding Batula's personal life grew when she was linked to Summer House costar West Wilson. The pair eventually confirmed their transition from a platonic friendship to a romantic relationship in March.

The development caused significant friction within the Bravo circle, particularly given the proximity to Batula’s divorce and Wilson’s past history with their mutual friend, Ciara Miller. During a heated Summer House reunion, Cooke pressed the pair for clarity on their timeline, questioning the nature of their involvement prior to his split from Batula.

Looking Toward the Future

As the reality of their divorce settled in, the former couple shared an emotional moment off-camera. Cooke expressed his desire to refrain from characterizing their decade-long relationship as entirely negative. While he admitted to seeking peace following the breakup, he acknowledged the difficulty of moving forward after a partnership he never anticipated ending.

In the City continues to air on Bravo on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
