The 28-year-old performer has reportedly secured a recurring role in NBC’s upcoming reboot of the classic crime drama The Rockford Files.

Although Rowland has not issued an official public statement confirming his involvement, he hinted at his return to set in late May, posting images on social media that depicted him in the middle of a film shoot. In addition to this major series, reports indicate that Rowland has completed work on three upcoming independent films.
The Future of Ty in 'Sweet Magnolias'
Fans of Sweet Magnolias were left wondering about the fate of Rowland’s character, Ty, after his near-total absence in the fourth season. When the fifth season debuted on June 11, his absence was felt deeply by viewers, particularly during a scene where Annie receives an unexpected text message from him.
Showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson has left the door open for a potential return. Regarding the possibility of Ty coming back to the show, Anderson remarked:

She further explained that the emotional connection between characters is not easily resolved, noting that the show aims to explore how people navigate changing circumstances in Serenity.
