A Musical Surprise in London

Fans of the iconic musical series Glee were treated to an unexpected holiday-style surprise this past weekend. Almost ten years after the beloved Fox show concluded, former cast members Chris Colfer and Darren Criss joined forces once again for a live performance.

On Sunday, October 18, the duo took to the stage at London's prestigious Royal Albert Hall to perform the classic holiday duet, “Baby It’s Cold Outside.”

A Nostalgic Performance

Criss, 39, who portrayed Blaine Anderson, initially opened the set by joking that he was prepared to tackle both parts of the duet alone, paying homage to the famous rendition performed by their characters during the show's second season in 2010.

Colfer, 36, who played the character of Kurt Hummel, made a surprise appearance to join him, humorously telling the audience:

«The only thing inappropriate about doing this song is doing it without me.»

The original track, written in 1944 by Frank Loesser, has been covered by countless artists throughout history, but this specific reunion carried extra weight for the Glee fanbase.

Ongoing Connections and Potential Revivals

This mini-reunion follows a recent trend of former co-stars crossing paths. Earlier this year, Kevin McHale and Matthew Morrison supported fellow cast member Jonathan Groff at his Broadway production, Just In Time.

Beyond live appearances, the future of the franchise remains a hot topic. Last month, series creator Ryan Murphy revealed in an interview that he has officially completed a revival script for the show. Murphy noted that he, alongside original writers Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, has penned a new concept and reached out to key cast members, including Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale, and Amber Riley, to discuss the project.

Life After Glee

Since the show ended, both stars have pursued diverse career paths. Darren Criss has successfully transitioned into dramatic television, notably starring in 2018's The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, while continuing to cultivate his Broadway career, including roles in and producing Maybe Happy Ending.
