The Beckham family drama is officially out in the open — and David and Victoria Beckham have handled it in different ways.

The couple’s son, Brooklyn Beckham, did not hold back when he posted a lengthy statement on Instagram in January 2026, addressing his estrangement from his famous family directly. The model and aspiring chef accused his parents of years of control, press manipulation, and attempts to sabotage his marriage to Nicola Peltz Beckham.

“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” Brooklyn wrote. “Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”

He continued, “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. … For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, [my] anxiety has disappeared.”

After Brooklyn released his statement, David and Victoria have seemingly chosen their words carefully. At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, David was asked by a reporter if he had a message for Brooklyn but remained silent and kept walking.

Later, during a live interview on CNBC’s Squawk Box in January 2026, David addressed family challenges without naming Brooklyn directly. “They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn,” he said.

Victoria also responded in a separate interview, saying, “We’ve always tried to be the best parents we can be. We’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children.” She added that parenting adult children is “very different” from raising young ones.

In a later appearance on Today in April 2026, Victoria was asked how she gets through tough times. “Myself and David, we are so close and we have incredible people around us,” she said, without mentioning her children by name.
