New Beginnings Outside the U.S.
Singer Cassie Ventura, known professionally as Cassie, has confirmed that she has relocated outside of the United States. Following the high-profile legal battle involving her ex-boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs, the 39-year-old artist has indicated that she does not plan to move back to the country.
According to court documents filed on May 1 in relation to her separate lawsuit against Clayton Howard, Ventura stated clearly that she is “not a resident of California.” The filings further note that for any ongoing legal matters, it is significantly more convenient for her to travel to New York, where her legal representatives are stationed, rather than returning to the West Coast.
Context of the Relocation
This news follows a year of intense public scrutiny during which Ventura provided testimony in the criminal trial of Sean Combs. In September 2024, Combs was indicted on several serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering. While he maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings, he was eventually found guilty of two counts of transportation for illegal sexual activity and sentenced to four years in prison.
Ventura and Combs had a volatile relationship that spanned 11 years before ending permanently in 2018. Prior to the criminal trial, Ventura had filed a lawsuit in 2023 alleging physical and sexual abuse, a case that was settled out of court shortly after it was initiated.
Support and Family Life
Throughout the taxing legal process, Ventura found steadfast support in her husband, Alex Fine. Fine, an actor, stood by her side as she testified, later expressing his admiration for her resilience.
In a statement released in May 2025, Fine shared his perspective on the situation:
«Over the past five days, the world has gotten to witness the strength and bravery of my wife freeing herself of her past. There has been speculation online surrounding how it must feel for me to sit there and listen to my wife’s testimony. I have felt so many things sitting there. I have felt tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass. I have felt profound anger that she has been subjected to sitting in front of a person who tried to break her.»
Currently, the couple is focused on their family, which includes two daughters, Frankie and Sunny, as well as a third child born around the time of the trial.
