A Tribute to a Pop Icon
The latest episode of Dancing With the Stars, which aired on Tuesday, October 6, was a themed celebration dedicated to the discography of Mariah Carey. The 12 remaining pairs took to the dance floor to perform routines set to iconic tracks ranging from "Obsessed" to "Hero."
The pop superstar herself opened the broadcast with a special message for the contestants. «What an honor to have an entire evening dedicated to my music. I can’t wait to see how these fabulous couples bring my songs to life. I wish I could be there tonight, but I’ll be watching and cheering you on from afar. Have fun!» Carey stated in a pre-recorded video.
Highlights From the Ballroom
The evening featured several standout performances:
- Ciara Miller and Brandon Armstrong: Kicking off the show, the pair performed a jazz routine to "Emotions." Miller noted that the song resonated with the ups and downs of their journey this season. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba lauded the effort, calling it their strongest performance to date, which earned them a score of 21 out of 30.
- Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach: The Paralympic athlete continued his impressive run, delivering a captivating rumba. Frech expressed his gratitude toward his partner for her support, noting that she consistently provides the environment necessary for him to tackle new challenges every week.
The Results
Following a series of strong routines that prompted host Julianne Hough to comment on the «magic» present in the ballroom, the competition had to move forward. Unfortunately, the high energy of the night concluded on a somber note for one pair.
Ciara Miller and Brandon Armstrong were ultimately eliminated from the competition just before the upcoming Super Bowl-themed episode. Reflecting on her time on the show, Miller expressed deep appreciation for her partner: «I’m so grateful for Brandon. This experience has been the moment of a lifetime, and there’s no one else I would rather have had this moment with.»
Dancing With the Stars season 35 continues to air on ABC and Disney+ every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.
