Rapper Future is facing potential jail time after Brittni Mealy, the mother of his 12-year-old son Prince, filed a petition to hold him in contempt of court. Mealy alleges that Future failed to comply with a 2023 court order requiring him to obtain a $500,000 life insurance policy naming her as trustee for their son.

This latest legal action adds to a series of child support and paternity disputes involving the artist. In 2023, Future was ordered to increase his monthly child support payments for Prince from $3,000 to $5,000, following an assessment of his increased income.

Future, who has never been married, has multiple children with different women and has been involved in numerous legal battles over parental responsibilities. Other mothers, including Eliza Seraphin and Jessica Smith, have also pursued him for child support and paternity claims in the past.

The rapper has yet to publicly respond to the current petition. The court will determine if he violated the previous order and if incarceration is warranted.
