Actress Halle Berry stated she is still awaiting contact from California Governor Gavin Newsom after criticizing his veto of the Menopause Care Equity Act. Newsom called the situation "unfortunate."

Berry publicly condemned the governor in December. Newsom later responded that the issue was being reconciled and included in the next budget, a fact Berry claims she was unaware of.

In a recent interview, Berry expressed frustration, stating, "It's disturbing when people say they're going to do things and then they don't." She added a pointed message for the potential presidential candidate: "He can't sleep on women."

A spokesperson for Newsom stated the governor's budget proposal supports menopause care as promised, calling Berry's latest remarks "very unfortunate."

Berry, nearing 60, explained her advocacy stems from a desire to help women navigate midlife health. The vetoed bill aimed to increase healthcare coverage and education for menopause symptoms.

Newsom's office maintains the veto was to avoid unintentionally raising healthcare costs for working families, expressing a desire to work with Berry on a solution.
