The controversy began at a Coldplay concert in Massachusetts in July 2025, where Cabot, then Astronomer's Chief People Officer, and the company's ex-CEO Andy Byron were captured on the kiss cam in an intimate moment. Both individuals were separated from their spouses at the time. Following the incident, both Cabot and Byron resigned from their positions at Astronomer.
When questioned about attending future concerts, particularly by Coldplay, Cabot stated, "No, Coldplay or any concert...No, I am all set." She had previously discussed the embarrassing event on Oprah Winfrey's podcast, noting her estranged husband was also present at the show.
