LeSean McCoy Explains Why He Quit 'Special Forces' Over Bathroom Conditions

An Unexpected Departure

The fifth season of the demanding reality series Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test has seen a rapid turnover of participants, but the recent exit of NFL player LeSean McCoy left many viewers stunned. His decision to leave the competition was prompted by a factor few would anticipate: a firm refusal to use outdoor restroom facilities.

The Jungle Challenges

In an exclusive interview regarding his experience on the show, McCoy detailed the harsh realities he faced shortly after arriving at the jungle-based camp. Beyond the strenuous missions, it was the primitive living conditions that overwhelmed him.

«We’re out here with little stuff like this. But in real life, I saw a big mosquito, just as big as this, and they were doing a lot of biting. When I woke up the next morning, I had so many bites on my back,» McCoy recalled. «On my first day there, we got into the jungle and the bathroom was outside. Now that was hard. Like, whoa, we gonna use the bathroom outside? So in my head, I said, ‘I gotta hold this thing in for as long as I’m here.’ That’s what I’m thinking.»

The Breaking Point

McCoy explained that the sight of the latrine, which was essentially a hole in the ground, proved to be a dealbreaker. His resolve only hardened when he encountered dangerous wildlife near the facilities. «When I looked into the bathroom, it really was just like a hole, some wood, a circle and a bucket. That’s it. And there was a big snake in there. I’m like, ‘Oh, hell no.’ So I said, ‘I’m not using the bathroom.’ They got snakes. I saw a king cobra,» he added.

During the episode, McCoy made his stance clear to his fellow recruits, stating, «I’m not sting outside. I won’t s for three days or eight days.» Despite concerns from castmate Oliver Hudson about the sustainability of such a plan, McCoy eventually reached his limit and chose to withdraw from the competition, stating he simply wasn't prepared for that level of discomfort.

Other Departures

McCoy was not the only individual facing difficulties during that episode. Oliver Hudson faced disciplinary action in the form of 50 push-ups after requesting a bathroom break before a challenge. Furthermore, the episode saw both George Santos and Ruby Rose exit the show due to separate medical issues.
