A Father's Final Wish
In a poignant sit-down interview on 60 Minutes, which aired on September 20, Patrick Clancy reflected on the horrific aftermath of the day his then-wife, Lindsay Clancy, strangled their three young children in January 2023. During the interview, Clancy revealed the desperate prayer he whispered while holding onto hope that his youngest son, Callan, might survive.
«I remember just thinking, ‘Just gimme one. Just gimme one kid, and I would raise him as best I could, and I would give him the best life I possibly could. I’d tell him about his brother and sister,’» Clancy recounted. Despite his hopes, he soon realized upon arriving at the hospital that the prognosis was grim.
The Final Days
Callan remained on life support for four days before he was declared brain dead. During those final moments, Patrick focused entirely on his son. «I said, ‘I’m so sorry.’ And I got to hold him. I got to lay down next to him. And he died in my arms,» he shared.
Patrick was accompanied by his current wife, Rachel Danis, with whom he tied the knot in April 2026. The couple spoke out to challenge the public criticism and scrutiny Patrick faced after he began dating shortly after the tragedy.
Combating Defamation
The trial, which resulted in a mistrial on September 4, became a breeding ground for unfounded conspiracy theories. Some online users suggested, without evidence, that Patrick was involved in the deaths of his children, often citing the timeline of his new relationship as suspicious. Patrick has never been named a suspect and has consistently denied these claims.
In response to the vitriol, Patrick’s attorney, Howard Cooper, issued a stern warning to those spreading falsehoods:
«Over the past months, Patrick Clancy and his family have been subjected to a relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign. This campaign of misinformation has been launched and promoted by minor celebrities, so-called influencers and outright conspiracy theorists who appear intent on boosting their own social media profiles and potential profit by publishing what they know to be outright falsehoods.»
Cooper emphasized that legal action would be pursued against those responsible for the harassment, noting that law enforcement has already been notified.
The Legal Landscape
While Lindsay Clancy has not denied the killings, her legal team has maintained that she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis at the time, arguing that she should not be held criminally responsible. As of now, prosecutors have not announced whether they will seek a retrial for the case.
