A Terrifying Incident in Uniontown
A Pennsylvania man, identified as 30-year-old Tylar Greenough, is facing severe criminal charges after allegedly orchestrating a multi-day kidnapping of his former girlfriend, her baby, and her grandmother. According to the Fayette County District Attorney’s Office, Greenough is currently charged with aggravated assault and kidnapping with the intent to inflict terror or injury.
The ordeal reportedly began on August 28 in Uniontown. District Attorney Mike Aubele stated that the suspect utilized a ladder to breach a second-story window, effectively holding the three family members captive throughout the weekend.
Details of the Alleged Abuse and Threats
Police reports indicate that the motivation behind the violent outburst was the suspect's jealousy regarding the victim's new relationship. Documentation obtained by authorities reveals harrowing details about the threats made during the captivity:
- Greenough allegedly forced his ex-girlfriend to witness the situation while threatening to kill her family members.
- The victims were physically assaulted both at their residence and at a local hotel.
- In an attempt to confront the woman's new partner, Greenough allegedly forced the grandmother and the infant to remain inside the trunk of a car during a staged meet-up.
According to police statements, the situation escalated when the suspect attempted to pull the woman's new partner into the vehicle. When the man fled, Greenough allegedly took the wheel and attempted to strike him with the car.
The Investigation and Arrest
After being forced to file false reports regarding her new partner, the women and the child were eventually returned to their home. On August 31, once Greenough left for work, the victims managed to alert law enforcement.
The suspect was apprehended on Tuesday after returning to his ex-girlfriend's home, where he allegedly caused significant property damage. Law enforcement officials noted that despite a prior felony conviction prohibiting him from owning weapons, Greenough was armed with a firearm at the time of his arrest. Prosecutors believe the vandalism was a retaliatory act after the suspect discovered the victims had contacted the authorities.
