During a virtual court proceeding held on June 1, legal representatives for Secret Lives of Mormon Wives personality Taylor Frankie Paul clarified the circumstances surrounding a truncated visitation session with her two-year-old son, Ever, on Mother’s Day. Paul’s attorney emphasized her desire to maximize time spent with her child, noting that while some past visits have been shortened or cancelled, these adjustments stem from specific logistical or health-related factors.

Factors Influencing Visitation Schedules

According to her legal counsel, the Mother's Day visit was reduced due to constraints regarding the availability of the required supervisor. The attorney explained, «As far as the Mother’s Day visit, that was cut a little bit short because of limited supervisor availability on that day. There’s also just some difficulties and challenges in coordinating schedules with supervisor availability.» Furthermore, the court noted that other recent disruptions were due to the child's health issues, such as a severe cold sore breakout.

Court Rulings and Future Arrangements

Following the hearing, a judge provided new recommendations for the custody arrangement. While overnight visits are not yet permitted, the court ruled that Paul is now entitled to see her son on alternating weekends and one additional day during the week to ensure a consistent schedule. The judge noted, «We want that day to be consistent so we are on a set schedule.»

Moving Forward

Under the current arrangement, Mortensen will maintain status as the custodial parent for holidays. Looking ahead, both parties have been instructed to refrain from posting disparaging remarks about each other on social media, to continue their individual therapy sessions, and to maintain a distance of at least 100 feet from one another. A follow-up hearing to review the custody status is scheduled for July 8.

Throughout the proceedings, both sides expressed a commitment to the child's well-being, with Paul’s lawyer asserting, «Ever is her entire life. She’s been his primary, historic caretaker almost his entire life. … My client is not a danger to Ever.» Similarly, Mortensen’s representative stated that his client is currently engaged in therapy as he works on his role as a father.
