Shanna Moakler has responded to the attention surrounding a recent social media post in which she appeared to take a dig at Kourtney Kardashian, the wife of her ex-husband, Travis Barker. The 51-year-old addressed the situation in a statement provided to the Daily Mail this past Friday.
«Honestly, there’s no major story here,» Moakler stated. «I post and delete things on social media all the time, and there really isn’t anything more I want to add to it.» She further noted that she intends to share her personal narrative in greater detail in an upcoming book.
Context Behind the Controversy
The online speculation stemmed from a viral TikTok video featuring Barker and Kardashian attending the red carpet premiere of the documentary Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear. The couple was accompanied by Barker and Moakler’s children—Landon, Alabama, and Atiana De La Hoya. In response to the footage, Moakler left a comment, which she subsequently removed, questioning: «Where are her children?»
A Complicated History
The relationship between Moakler and the couple has been notably strained for years. Since her 2008 divorce from the Blink-182 drummer, Moakler has been vocal about their past custody battles and ongoing personal tensions. The former couple’s relationship history includes mutual gestures of moving on, such as the removal and covering of various tattoos dedicated to one another.

Moakler has previously been candid about her lack of a close relationship with the Kardashian family. In a 2024 interview, she emphasized that she had reached a stage of maturity where she is no longer concerned with external opinions. Regarding her current dynamic with Barker, she noted:
«We don’t speak anymore. I don’t have a relationship with Travis, but I think that’s OK. I don’t feel like it’ll be like that forever, but I feel like right now — I think that’s where we are at in our evolution, and maybe in the future, it’ll change.»
During an appearance on the When Reality Hits podcast earlier this year, Moakler reiterated that her primary focus remains the well-being of her children. She stated that she remains grateful as long as her kids are treated well, preferring to minimize her focus on the omnipresence of the Kardashian family in the media.
