Jennifer Eckhart, a former associate producer for Fox Business, has passed away at the age of 36. Authorities discovered her body at her residence in Martin County, Florida, on Saturday, September 19. According to an official statement from Christine Christofek, a spokesperson for the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, the death has been formally ruled a suicide.
Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek noted during a press briefing that Eckhart had previously been subject to the “Baker Act” on six occasions. In Florida, this legislation provides critical crisis intervention for individuals experiencing mental health emergencies.

Furthermore, she held a position as a correspondent for ESPN Radio, notably hosting the 2011 ESPN College Football Awards.
From 2013 until 2020, Eckhart was a key member of the Fox Business team, where she contributed to the production of major programs such as The Claman Countdown and facilitated interviews with significant business leaders.

Around the time she left the network in 2020, Eckhart garnered significant media attention after filing a lawsuit against Fox News and former anchor Ed Henry. In the complaint, she alleged that Henry had sexually assaulted and raped her, further claiming that he exploited his professional standing to manipulate her. The lawsuit also asserted that the network continued to promote Henry despite receiving prior reports regarding his conduct.

Following an internal investigation, Fox News terminated Henry in July 2020, citing a strict prohibition against sexual harassment and misconduct. While Fox News was removed from the legal proceedings in March 2025, Eckhart and Henry eventually reached a confidential settlement prior to the case reaching trial.
